What makes SailPoint one of the best places to work in technology?
Here’s what makes SailPoint one of the best places to work in tech
Recently, SailPoint was named one of Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Technology, a designation determined by a comprehensive, third-party employee survey that considers everything from leadership transparency to growth opportunities. Today, we’re pulling back the curtain to shed some light on what makes SailPoint such a unique place to work in the tech industry. Let’s get into it!
The work is meaningful (and the opportunities are endless)
Cybersecurity is a top concern and priority for companies across the globe, and identity security has emerged as a fundamental pillar of enterprise information security. Understanding who has access and to what (technologies, data and resources) is a complex problem, made even more challenging by the ever-increasing number of machine identities such as applications, services, and devices. In a recent study by SailPoint, 72% of identity professionals surveyed say machine identities are more difficult to manage than human identities.
Challenging real-world problems make for meaningful and impactful work. SailPoint helps secure some of the biggest companies in the world and is constantly innovating as the identity security landscape continues to evolve. This brings us to our next point.
Our technology is world-class
“SailPoint is one of those rare security products that both makes things easier for the business and delivers strategic value,” said Lachlan McGill, General Manager of Cyber Risk and Compliance, Salvation Army Australia.
More than half of the companies on the Fortune 500 are SailPoint customers. SailPoint was recently named an Overall Leader, Product Leader, Innovation Leader, and Market Leader in the latest Leadership Compass Identity Governance and Administration (“IGA”) report from KuppingerCole Analysts AG. We also won a 2024 CRN Annual Report Card (ARC) Award in the Security – Identity category from CRN, which “honors technology vendors for providing best-in-class products.”
SailPoint is at the forefront of the identity security industry. And when one, just one, breached identity or access point can compromise the security of an entire enterprise, organizations want to have the best technology out there to help prevent that from happening.
You can see your innovations in action
When you’re managing emerging threats and technologies, it’s all hands on deck to stay ahead and drive innovative solutions. At every level, our employees – who we refer to as our “crew” – have the opportunity to see their ideas brought to life and deliver real value to our customers.
A perfect example of this is SailPoint’s AI-powered application onboarding capability that helps enable customers to seamlessly integrate critical business applications. This idea was born from SailPoint’s internal, “Shark Tank”-style innovation competition, where teams pitched creative solutions to address real customer needs. The winners of the challenge not only received a pretty impressive cash prize, they also saw their ideas added to SailPoint’s product roadmap and delivered to customers.
Today, App Onboarding is a live feature that helps drive value for customers by using AI-driven recommendations to more quickly apply core identity security functionality to enterprise applications and reduce the overall set-up complexity for applications.
We value and invest in our crew
What motivates SailPoint crew members to work hard and deliver excellent results to our customers? A strong internal culture that values the contributions of each crew member. We aim to provide a best-in-class workplace experience. Whether that’s by creating opportunities for remote teams to connect in person through our regional volunteering program, #SailPointCares, or offering internal career growth programs such as Leading the SailPoint Way, “Coaching for Impact” or “Owning Your Career,” – all sessions aimed to help crew get the most out of their careers – SailPoint prioritizes the crew-member experience every step of the way.
Our leadership team listens
We introduced many of the programs mentioned above in direct response to anonymous employee feedback shared in SailPoint’s annual engagement survey. A significant moment of insight, this survey helps SailPoint understand what’s working and what we can do better to further enhance the experience here. Our leaders are committed to taking action based on the feedback received and to creating programs that have lasting impact.
In addition to our annual survey, SailPoint CEO Mark McClain meets regularly with crew across the globe in virtual feedback meetings. Here, employees have an opportunity to share their thoughts directly with Mark in a uniquely transparent and accessible forum. It’s a powerful way to show our crew that our leaders walk the walk and take the time to hear them out and address challenges and opportunities head-on.
